The Dead Squirrels in a nutshell

August 5, 2014 by The Upstart 1 Comment

August 4, 2014 by Courtney Zhu Leave a Comment

Anna’s in chemistry class. Anna’s confused. Anna reaches for her phone so she can look up an easy explanation on how to write the net ionic equation for a redox reaction. Before her fingertip even reaches the home button on her iPhone, she jumps at the alarming voice of her teacher saying, “Anna, put that away immediately!” More often than not, teachers bust high school … [Read more...] about Journalists Encounter Problem With Smartphone Use

She and her friend Cheryl Pell pick … [Read more...] about Exclusive interview with Betsy Rau: How to take your design and content to the next level

Why The Curtains Are Blue: The Importance of Reading On Our Empathy

By Christina Karcher | Sophomore | Grosse Pointe South High School [This work comes from the Art of Storytelling class, taught by Julia Satterthwaite.] Ever since I knew how to string letters into words, and those words into sentences, I have loved to read. I would read for hours at a time, fiction about fairies […]

Careers in crayon

By Baity Wagner | senior | Wylie E. Groves High School [This work comes from the Art of Storytelling class, taught by Julia Satterthwaite.] I soaked in school like a sponge. I loved learning about shapes, addition and how to write a proper sentence. Despite the abundance of lessons that are thrown at you in […]
