When Logan Smith became chief of staff for the 2024 Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA) summer camp he learned how to tape doors in the unique fashion required by Executive Director Jeremy Steele.
Then, the official prank wars started between them.
“His way of taping signs is they have to have rolled tape on all four corners on the back, so there cannot be any visible tape on the front” said Logan with clear irritation.
Once Logan learned of Jeremy’s fussy way of taping, Logan decided to get his revenge starting with taping Jeremy’s name tag along the perimeter of the front on each side of the paper.
Then, to get his own revenge, Jeremy decided to flip Logan’s name sign on his door upside down.
But it didn’t end there. From the continuation of their pranks, they both left Hershey kisses around in odd places to be found by one another which continued into the 2025 workshop the following summer.
Now they have taken it to another level from not only flipping signs upside down to putting multiple signs doors and deciding that Logan was a wizard and blocking his doorway with caution tape but that’s not all. He also has something else up his sleeve tonight at the MIPA talent show.
Jeremy then posted a sign saying: “By order of the wizard, an enemy of signage has been found and captured behind this door. He shall be held here in solitary confinement, nothing he is evil! Responsible for improper masking tape of many poor innocent signs.”
In response, Logan said: “So all I will say to that is, you’re going to want to be at the variety show when it starts because the office staff is starting out with a skit written by me.” Logan said.
Please attend the MIPA’s Got talent Variety show to see what is in store for Jeremy!
