A small crowd of about 40 MIPA students attended the Aug. 2 showing of “Mad Hot Ballroom” in the auditorium of the Business College Complex.
Some students said they expected more of a student turnout. Aya Abe, a sophomore from Loy Norrix High School, said she expected the turnout of last year for the showing of “Waiting for Superman,” an auditorium that was packed to the limit. Abe and other students also said they were surprised the movie was a documentary, and most said it was a complex and a tad difficult to understand. As the movie ran on, the audience diminished. However, once they were past the complexity of the movie, the students who remained said they thoroughly enjoyed the film and said it was lots of fun. By Jason Greene / Upstart Staff
