Personality Profile on Sydnie Queen from Chippewa Valley High School

July 31, 2013 by JimStreisel Leave a Comment

All Hail The Queen

Sydnie Queen is a complete spitfire. As she removes a strand of Ombre-colored hair from her face, she invites all the girls on the floor to hang out and eat lunch together. This attitude is exemplified by her favorite philosophy: don’t judge a book by its cover.

“Get to know someone before you make a snap judgment,” Queen explained.

Queen also often checks her phone, keeping up with the latest tweets, vine videos and instagram photos. In addition to her social skills, she has learned to work hard to experience success, which she credits her mother with.

“The fact that she as been through so much and yet she still finds a way to always be supportive of me and my dreams is amazing,” Queen said.

Another source of inspiration for Queen is the popular boy band One Direction.

“Oh God,” Queen said with a giggle. “I love that they’re very attractive, their music is really good and I love them a lot!”

Queen’s first choice of a celebrity she’d like to meet would be guitar player and singer Harry Styles.

“He’s just a really interesting person and I’m just curious about him,” Queen explained. “And he’s attractive too.”

The conversation shifts to pet peeves and Queen stretches her toes in a weird sort of “beam-me-up-Scotty” kind of way while she discusses rude gum-chewers.

“It just, ugh, bugs me,” Queen said. “It’s the most irritating thing ever.”

After examining the silly, Queen was more serious about her future career goals. From the moment she stepped into her first high school English class, she knew she wanted to be a writer and hopefully editor-in-chief of “Seventeen” magazine someday. Her aspirations include a degree in journalism, a minor in philosophy and being close with family.

The avid reader says her favorite book is “The Summer I Turned Pretty” by Jenny Han.

“You have to read it; it’s so good!” Queen says in a convincing fashion.

It’s this desire to make others happy and for them to feel included that make this spunky young lady such a pleasure to interact with.

Why The Curtains Are Blue: The Importance of Reading On Our Empathy

By Christina Karcher | Sophomore | Grosse Pointe South High School [This work comes from the Art of Storytelling class, taught by Julia Satterthwaite.] Ever since I knew how to string letters into words, and those words into sentences, I have loved to read. I would read for hours at a time, fiction about fairies […]
