Music Reviews: Jessica Dianne

That Should Be Me – Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber expressed his hurt and sorrow in the bluesy “That Should Be Me”. Although reminiscent to Usher’s “You Got It Bad”, Bieber separates himself with his smooth vocals and youthful approach to love.

With lyrics like “Now if you’re tryna break my heart, its working” and “This is so wrong, I can’t go on” Bieber begins to sound a little depressed and desperate. With Bieber’s fresh voice That Should Be Me is easy on the ears and relatable to everyone in that situation.

“According to You” – Orianthi
Pop rock sensation Orianthi gives young girls an anthem for when someone isn’t treating them right with According to You. This edgy song can be considered motivational with lyrics like “According to you I’m stupid, I’m useless, I can’t do anything right”, and contradicting that with “But according to him, I’m beautiful, incredible, he can’t get me out of his head”.

Orianthi gives inspiration to young women to leave bad or even abusive relationships, while at the same time gives a song to sing and dance to. According to You sheds a positive light on a tough situation, and is definitely worth pressing repeat.
