Dividing into newspaper, yearbook, video and photo, 400 MIPA campers broke out into their content-specific groups after the opening ceremonies. Introducing the concepts for the week through instructor lectures, the students saw their first look at what was to come for the next four days.
Haley Kluge graduated this spring from Grand Ledge High School and is attending Michigan State University to study journalism in the fall. During her time at Grand Ledge, she spent all four years on newspaper staff, beginning as a staff editor and designer as a freshman, working as managing editor as a sophomore and spending her junior and senior year as editor-in-chief. She has been published in the Lansing State Journal and Grand Ledge Independent and was a member of the 2013 MIPA's All-Star Staff. This is her fourth year at MIPA camp.
