After a long day of travel, checking in and unpacking, MIPA campers will have the opportunity to unwind with activities beginning tonight.
“I’m going to be very diligent in adding up the points for the MIPA Cup,” Student Activities Director Sara-Beth Badalamente said. “Points that smaller classes earn will be weighted so it’s fair for all classes.”
All activities, including the volleyball tournament, count as points and at the end of the week, the class with the most points will be awarded the MIPA Cup.
Activities each day will include the annual volleyball tournament from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) craft and other activities.
Tonight’s DIY are door tags that campers can decorate and hang on their dorm room handle. There will also be a Twitter Bingo Scavenger Hunt, where campers will take pictures of people and things involving camp.
Both activities tonight meet in the West Shaw lobby and there will be board games in the East lobby from 9 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
Starting Monday there will be the option of a pool run from 4 p.m.- 5 p.m. during the volleyball tournament. Campers can check the volleyball bracket starting tonight at challonge.com/mipacup .
This week’s activities will keep campers busy in between class time, from a life-sized scrabble game to friendship bracelets. There will always be something to do and points to be earned towards the MIPA Cup.
“There are many reasons campers should do these activities,” Badalamente said. “It’s no fun to go to a camp and sit in your dorm room. Get out there and meet new people.”
