The special event for Wednesday was to show your staff some love by wearing your staff shirt or school shirt. Campers showed off their individual school pride by wearing t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other items with a wide range of colors and styles.
Brianne Twiddy from Woodhaven High School shared why she thinks showing off school pride is important.
“I feel like school pride makes everyone want to work harder. You want to wear the colors of your school, and represent it the best you can. ”
Many students attended MIPA with fellow journalists from their school newspaper, but most campers can agree that meeting new people is one of the best parts of the experience.
“Being with people from other schools, I like seeing where people come from,” shared Kayla Miller, from Portland High School.
Miller expressed school pride by wearing a basketball t-shirt from her school.
“We can connect on another level, like sports, when we see what shirt they are wearing.”
