Detroit native Joe Hertler to perform tonight

July 30, 2013 by Sydney Dippel Leave a Comment

Michigan native Joe Hertler from the band Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers will perform tonight at the West Shaw Terrace at 9 p.m. for MIPA campers.

His authentic, soulful music, classified by noisetrade.com as Alternative Americana, displays his Michigander upbringing through various song titles such as “Ego Loss on Grand River Avenue” and “Red Wings.” With similar sounds to The Head and The Heart, The Lumineers and Death Cab For Cutie, Hertler draws a diverse and engaged audience.

Growing up in Detroit, Hertler returned home to record his latest extended play (EP) “The Russell Sessions” at the Russell Industrial Center. Because these tracks are live sessions, the performer’s emotions are prevalent in the mood of the songs, including genuine tracks titled “The Garden” and “Your Story.”

“The Russell Sessions” is available for free download on noisetrade.com and more information on Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers can be found at joehertler.com. Check out his music or follow Hertler on Twitter (@joehertler) to get connected.

Check back for more coverage later tonight.
