James Gardin is scheduled to perform Tuesday evening at 9:15 in the Shaw Terrace Level.
Gardin, formerly known as P.H.I.L.T.H.Y., is a indie rapper, singer, and songwriter. Before his music career was set in motion, he taught music to children in South Africa and championed cultural unity and HIV/AIDS awareness through his lyrics.
“I didn’t understand music in their systematic way, but today, I don’t approach music with rules set to it anyway,” said Gardin. “I’m glad I learned it for myself.”
