Taking an interest in music and DJing, Huron High School student Izzy Yip enrolled in the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association’s (MIPA) Music Journalism course. She first discovered her love for music when her mom would play her songs at a young age. Since then, music has been a key part of her life.
“I think it’s definitely given me different views — maybe about myself and the world around me. Once you see a message you really like from artists, it can become your own interpretation,” Yip said.
While taking the Music Journalism class, Yip was able to see Will Henry perform at the IMPACT 89 radio station.
“I haven’t heard a lot of artists in person, only over recording usually. Being able to experience live music really made this experience memorable,” Yip said.
Additionally, Yip had the opportunity to interview Henry about her songwriting process and start in music. Her full story will be showcased below for a better insight on Will Henry and his recent appearance at Michigan State University.
